AAEA accepts support from IBM in 1990. IBM donated the computer pictured above with the interns. Jannie Pittman (below right), an IBM employee at the time, was also a founding AAEA board member. Pittman now works for Coca Cola.

In 1990 AAEA held Earth Days in Washington, DC and Atlanta. The DC Earth was sponsored by George Gurley (pictured below to Jesse Jackson's right) and cosponsored and organized by AAEA. Sulaiman Mahdi was Director for the AAEA Atlanta, Georgia Office for the Southeastern Region. Earth Day founder Dennis Hayes is standing to Jackson's left and then DC Mayor Marion Barry is at far left.

Sulaiman (in hat at right) also planted a tree at the Martin Luther King Center in Atlanta for Earth Day 1990
